📝 NOTE - this is once a year event from this group, so don’t miss out! 😉 ⚠️ FOR YOUR SAFETY & ENJOYMENT, PLEASE READ BELOW DESCRIPTION FULLY BEFORE YOU CLICK ‘Attend’! \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* 🗓 DATE: Saturday, 12 September 2026. ⏰ MEETING TIME: 11am - late start! 🚊 MEETING POINT: (start & finish) Newcastle Interchange Station (last station), at the main entry/exit. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* 🥾 DISTANCE: 12 km return. 🥾 GRADE: Easy/Moderate on a relaxing pace, not snail pace! Mostly walking on the pavements and shared footpaths along the beach. 💪🏽 Reasonable fitness recommended due to few uneven surfaces, gentle ups and downs hills and stair climbs. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* 📸 WHAT WE WILL DO: 🚶‍♂️ Let’s explore beautiful Newcastle Foreshore Walk. 🚌 Upon arrival at Newcastle Interchange station, we will immediately proceed to the bus stop for 11.10am bus ride to Merewether Ocean Baths for beautiful scenic coastal walk, Bathers Way. 🏖 We will be walking and taking photos at Merewether Ocean Baths, Merewether Beach, Dixon Park Beach, Bar Beach, Newcastle Memorial Walk, Strzelecki Lookout, Shepherds Hill Military Defence Complex, King Edward Park, Anzac Memorial Walk, Bogey Hole, Newcastle Ocean Baths, Soldiers Baths, Grounded, Nobbys Beach, Nobbys Head, Breakwall and Nobbys Lighthouse. 🐬 We may be able to see pod of dolphins between Merewether Beach and Newcastle Beach. 🐳 May be whale watching along the coast. 🦭 Perhaps sea lions at the Breakwater: ☕️ Few cafes for takeaway coffee or snacks and water refills available along the way. 🚃 Once we finish the walk at Nobbys Lighthouse and the Breakwater, we will catch light rail from Newcastle Beach to Newcastle Interchange station for the train back to Central station. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* ⚠️ IMPORTANT INFORMATION ⚠️ 📝 TERMS & DISCLAIMER: Attending this event is at your own risk.
