Hunter River Hotel

Hunter River Hotel is a long-running Maitland pub with a substantial refresh behind it. The venue traces its history to the 1830s, when it was first established as the Maitland Wine Vaults by John and Elizabeth Mayo. Its past also includes hosting shooting matches in Mayo’s paddock and serving as a stop for the Newcastle coach, giving the hotel a genuine connection to the area’s social and transport history.
