Nelson Bay Bowling & Recreation Club

Set beside the waters of Port Stephens, Nelson Bay Bowling & Recreation Club is a long-established community club for sport, dining and entertainment in Nelson Bay. It has welcomed locals and visitors for more than 50 years and supports local sporting, community and charity groups, giving the venue a strong connection to the area.

There are full bowling facilities with turf greens for bowlers and social players, along with bar facilities, dining and regular club activities. The entertainment program includes shows, bingo, raffles and promotions, making it suited to a casual night out with friends or family. The club also has function and meeting spaces that can accommodate up to 300 people, with facilities for corporate events, weddings and birthday celebrations.

Dining is centred around Mareva Restaurant on the first floor, which offers water views and a relaxed setting for lunch, dinner or a special occasion. The club’s website also lists Wok O Clock, a ground-floor dining venue focused on wok cooking and bold flavours. Nelson Bay Bowling & Recreation Club is wheelchair friendly, with easy access from the car park and a central lift. A courtesy bus operates from Thursday to Sunday, with pick-ups from 4pm.
