Why it's worth checking out
Reflections Jimmys Beach - Holiday Park offers a choice of camping and roofed accommodation in a bushland setting beside Jimmys Beach. The park is listed in Nelson Bay, Newcastle, while the venue’s website gives its address as Coorilla Street, Hawks Nest. Its location places guests between the bay and the beach, with natural surroundings and regular visits from goannas, kookaburras and possums adding to the sense of being away from the everyday.
There are unpowered and powered campsites for traditional camping, along with glamping tents, cabins, villas and tiny homes for guests wanting more comfort. The park also provides a camp kitchen, BBQ area, laundry, amenities, kiosk, dump point and extra-large sites. Cabins and beach tents include linen, towels and kitchenware, while campers can use the shared cooking facilities, which include a fridge/freezer, cooktop, convection microwave, hot water and BBQs.
Waterfront access is a major draw. Jimmys Beach is reached by crossing the sand dune from the park and is described as a family-friendly, unpatrolled bay beach, with stand-up paddleboards available for hire from reception. A track also leads to Bennetts Beach, the nearby patrolled surf beach. Fishing, swimming and water sports are available around the waterfront, while the park itself has a swimming pool, playground, green space, seasonal communal firepit and school holiday activities. The Worimi Art Trail offers another on-site activity for children and adults.
The surrounding area adds options for day trips and walks. Mount Yacaaba Walking Track is next door and has views across Port Stephens, while Hawks Nest is a short walk away with bars, restaurants and a golf club. Great Mermaid Beach is also nearby. Dogs are welcome year-round on all sites and in selected tiny homes, subject to the park’s conditions, making the accommodation suitable for dog owners as well as families, couples and groups. An accessible bathroom and accessible accommodation options are also listed among the park’s facilities.
