The Prince of Merewether

The Prince of Merewether is a long-standing local pub with roots reaching back to 1876. Locally owned and managed, it has grown into a multi-space venue for meals, drinks, sport, live entertainment and celebrations, while retaining the feel of a neighbourhood meeting place in Merewether, Newcastle.

Food is a major focus. The modern Australian gastropub menu covers traditional Italian pizza, burgers, raw seafood, prime cuts of steak and a kids menu, with dining available in the restaurant, on the balcony, in the bar or as takeaway. The venue’s burger has won the AHA NSW Best Burger award in both 2022 and 2023.
